Co-Founder of Bespoke Home Cinemas shortlisted for Cedia Board

We are pleased to announce that Melanie Malcolm has been nominated and shortlisted for the Board of Directors for our industry association CEDIA.

CEDIA, the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association, is the international trade organisation for the home technology industry with over 3,500 member companies worldwide. Built upon a strong volunteer foundation, CEDIA provides access to industry-leading education, certification, research and raises consumer awareness. Established in the USA in 1989, CEDIA is the leading global authority in the industry. The Association serves as the go-to home technology source for consumers and professionals alike. Their vision was to advocate the needs of the home technology professional by becoming the leading resource, promoting commerce, offering training and aiding in the assembly of a legitimate industry that was at the time considered more of a hobby. The Association was introduced to the UK in 1996. CEDIA has come to be recognised as the universal mark of professionalism for businesses within the industry. CEDIA EMEA, the title for the Region governed by the UK CEDIA Office, covers the UK, Europe, Africa, this CIS, the Middle East, India and Pakistan. CEDIA has advanced the industry by developing timely industry education and certification, launching research initiatives, advocacy on legislative issues, building relationships with architects, builders, and interior designers, educating the consumer and recognising industry achievement.

Mel says,

I’ve been involved in the AV industry since 1995 building our business Bespoke Home Cinemas. We’ve been CEDIA members since 2007, with a lifelong passion for the industry, its education and future developments; it’s not just a job to us. My involvement at Bespoke has been valuable to the growth of our business using my sales, marketing and networking skills to win new business whilst making invaluable contacts to build our team. I believe you have to build a brand, connect your product to your audience and communicate by creating conversations. My time is divided between Bespoke and my business networking and charity organisations which keep me highly motivated, determined to succeed and make a difference in whatever task I’m given. As Bespoke enters into its 21st year I’d love the opportunity to join the CEDIA board using my experience and knowledge to grow a solid support network of AV professionals to the highest of standards.

We would like to wish Mel and all the nominees the best of luck, for any CEDIA member please take a look at all the nominees, here's where to cast your vote http://cedia.co.uk/vote
